An architect and teacher, Christophe Hutin has studied and documented the townships of Soweto near Johannesburg and is a recognized expert on housing and habitat. Founder and coordinator of Eunic Studio in Johannesburg (2008-2010), he co-founded the “Learning From” workshop operating in Detroit, Soweto, and Uzeste (France). Together with architects Anne Lacaton, Jean-Philippe Vassal, and Frédéric Druot, he won the 2019 Mies van der Rohe Award for the transformation of 530 social housing units in the Cité du Grand Parc in Bordeaux. He has been appointed curator of the French pavilion at the 2021 Venice International Architecture Biennale and contributor to the 2021 Chicago Biennial.
